Dubai: More than one million passengers have used the Dubai Metro in 16 days since opening to the public on September 10.
According to statistics provided by the Rail Agency of the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), a total of 1,018,030 passengers used the Metro up to September 26.
RTA spokesperson Peymen Younes Parham said the Mall of the Emirates Station has been the busiest station of all the 10 stations opened as it has served around 192,585 passengers in the first 16 days of the Metro's launch.
It was followed by Al Rashidiya Station with 147,741 passengers and Khalid Bin Al Waleed Station with 138,720 passengers. Parham called on Metro users to be considerate, avoid rushing to get on board the Metro, and carefully read the tips prepared by Rail Agency specialists which are designed to maintain the safety of all passengers.
