Abu Dhabi: The UAE Red Crescent Authority (RCA) has allocated additional funds to cover the Ramadan projects abroad, bringing the amounts allocated to those projects to over Dh13.4 million from Dh8 million in the first third of Ramadan.
The amounts were donated by philanthropists who responded to the projects. The Ramadan iftar budget soared in the first 10 days of Ramadan from Dh4 million to over Dh9.379 million.
The RCA carries out the Ramadan iftar and Eid clothing projects in about 60 countries in which 700,000 people benefit.
The iftar project implemented by the RCA in these countries was a great success in the first half of Ramadan, as fasting people flocked to the Ramadan tents and iftar banquets set up in poor neighbourhoods, refugee camps, orphanages, educational institutes and dorms.
The RCA ensured that the meals are of the best quality and include the main food groups from the cuisine of the concerned country.
The authority opened the doors to philanthropists to offer their support and extend bridges of cooperation with brotherly and friendly people.
