UAE Red Crescent Authority to launch Dh4m initiative in Morocco

Abu Dhabi: The UAE Red Crescent Authority (RCA) will launch Dh4 million Emirates Anti Glaucoma Initiative in Morocco as per instructions from Shaikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Representative of the Ruler in the Western Region and Chairman of RCA.
The initiative targets 4,000 people over the next five years in five phases. Five hundred surgeries will be conducted in the first phase, while the second and third phase will cover 1,000 surgeries. The fourth and fifth phases will cover 2,000 glaucoma surgeries.
Abdel Kader Zaoui, Moroccan Ambassador to the UAE discussed Thursday at the headquarters of RCA in his meeting with Mohammed Khalifa Al Qamzi, secretary general of the RCA, the preparations for the initiative and its impacts on the life of patients. The Moroccan official lauded the humanitarian initiatives shouldered by the UAE in all fields, hailing the role of Shaikh Hamdan Bin Zayed in assisting Morocco in humanitarian situations.
On his part, Al Qamzi said that the RCA is keen to make the initiative a success in implementation of Shaikh Hamdan Bin Zayed's orders on providing the best curative and surgical services to eye patients in Morocco.
