Filipino expats to get more time for voting registration

Abu Dhabi: Filipino expatriates in Abu Dhabi will get more time for Overseas Absentee Voting (OAV), until August 31.
The Philippine Embassy in the capital will facilitate the registration from 9am to 12 noon and from 1pm to 5pm every day including weekends, Noel Servigon, Charge d’Affaires at the embassy said. The registration will be open on August 30th, a Philippine holiday (the National Heroes Day), he said.
Filipino expatriates have been registering as OAV’s at the embassy and consulate in Dubai to vote in the Philippine general elections to be held from April to May 2010. The registration which started on February 1 will end on August 31.
