The Filipina singing sensation Sarah Geronimo, who rose to prominence after winning a popular reality singing show, generously gave advice to aspiring singers during her performance at the World Trade Centre.
"We should be thankful with [sic] the talent given to us by God. Win or lose, continue to reach out to your dreams. Just remember to have a little more patience and hard work.
"You should also take good care of your voice. Sleep well, especially the day or night before you sing. Also, remember to drink water before the concert or competition."
Of the hot ginger tea or "salabat" drink, which is popular in the Philippines for soothing soar throats and "sweetening" the voice, Geronimo warned fans not to over indulge.
She admitted taking copious amounts of the drink as a child, but later found out that taking too much may not be good for the vocal chords.
