Ras Al Khaimah: The Department of Economic Development has instructed people to obtain receipts from gas dealers when changing their gas cylinders.
Faisal Al Youn, who heads the Inspection Section at the department, said gas prices in Ras Al Khaimah had not been changed despite the international increase in gas prices.
This month's meeting with gas filling companies approved the unchanged gas price list. He added there was a big possibility that gas dealers would try to use the international increase in gas prices as an excuse to violate the gas price list.
He stressed that receipts would spare customers any possible increase in prices and would force the dealers to stick to the price list.
He said that it was the responsibility of customers to insist on obtaining receipts for their changed cylinders and to report all types of increases to the department to enable the department's officials to take legal measures against the violating dealers.
