Islamabad: The UAE Red Crescent Authority (RCA) has completed the second phase of the distribution of humanitarian aid to help refugees who fled Swat Valley in Pakistan.
The relief supplies were rushed to Pakistan in line with the directives of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan and General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
The RCA's humanitarian operations were implemented with active follow-up by Shaikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the RCA.
The supplies included food, blankets, tents and other shelter materials.
The programme covered displaced families living in makeshift tents scattered in six camps in the province.
The consignment was accompanied by the director of the RCA's Sharjah branch, Khamis Mohammad Al Suwaidi, and Omar Ahmad Al Shehi.
