Speculation that global singing sensation Susan Boyle is set to perform in Dubai has been branded as "all rumours and wishful thinking".
The 48-year-old Scot, who achieved worldwide fame following her rendition of the Les Miserables hit I Dreamed a Dream on TV series Britain's Got Talent (BGT), has been the focus of several recent media reports linking her to a performance in the UAE.
Kevin Ridgely, Managing Director of Sony Music Entertainment Middle East, said he would love to bring Boyle to Dubai but confirmed that nothing had been arranged as of yet.
Ridgely said: "We will be keeping our eyes on BGT because an appearance in Dubai would depend on the outcome of the programme. The rumours that she is coming to the UAE are just that; it is wishful thinking at the moment. However, we would obviously love to bring Susan Boyle over to perform here at some point in the future."
Boyle became an overnight phenomenon when footage of her performance was uploaded onto YouTube, where it has since received almost 100 million unique hits.
