From Karachi to Kerala via Dubai, with love

19-Nov-2016 :

Dubai: Dubai-based Pakistani singer Nazia says she hated boundaries since her childhood. She had seen her Indian-origin mother weeping several times since the latter could not visit her relatives in India after she married her Pakistani father.

Today, the 29-year-old is a social media star breaking boundaries and connecting people from across the borders of her hometown Karachi and south Indian state of Kerala.

It all started with her work experience in her previous company in Dubai, says Nazia. Her first Malayalam song, ‘Malare’ from the movie Premam, was a dedication to her Malayali colleagues in the company.

“I dedicated a small WhatsApp video just to show my love for them. I never imagined it would become viral and cross borders and connect people, she told Gulf News in an interview.
