Tens of thousands of visitors are expected to attend Dubai International Jewellery Week which will stage the finest jewellery showcase yet, with precious gems from around the globe, one-off collector’s items and trendsetting designs. Renowned for its exclusive show offers and keenly anticipated by jewellery lovers across the region, the exhibition is also the perfect platform for jewellery manufacturers, retailers and wholesalers to showcase, network, exchange knowledge and conduct business.

The most prestigious consumer and trade event of its kind in the Middle East, Dubai International Jewellery Week,  synonymous with luxury and fine jewellery, will run from 7 - 10 October 2010 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre (DICEC) and is organised by the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC).

This year’s event will feature over 300 exhibitors from 27 countries, resulting in a truly global collection of jewellery pieces and industry expertise. Ten country pavilions will group exhibitors into their national clusters, providing a different way to shop and compare country specialties. Countries new to the exhibition this year include France, Greece, Iran, Myanmar, Netherlands, Peru, Qatar and Tanzania.

International celebrity jeweler Meira T, whose creations have been worn by Tyra Banks, Christie Brinkley and Sheryl Crow, will be unveiling her new collection during the show, along with many of the region’s premium jewelers including Arts & Gems, Dhamani Jewels, and Mahallati, offering consumers a world of choice and unrivalled preferential offers.

“Dubai International Jewellery Week is the definitive jewellery event of the year for consumers and exhibitors alike. With increased exhibitor space and a number of exciting new countries making their debut in Dubai, visitors will be able to broaden their jewellery horizons to include new regions, new gemstones and fabulous new designs,” said Trixee Loh, Senior Vice President, DWTC.

The glittering display of creations from winners of the Jewellery Design competition is a must-visit feature which will showcase designs from the hottest new talent in the region. For VIP guests and exhibitors, the exclusive invitation only Platinum Lounge is the perfect place to view jewellery pieces in a relaxed and private setting or nurture important business relationships.

In keeping with its position as the must attend industry event of the year, Dubai International Jewellery Week will host a series of seminars and workshops, for industry professionals to share best practice and discuss the latest developments in the field, plus a host of engaging seminars.
