A new branch centre of Dubai Municipality is coming up on Sheikh Zayed Road in Al Safa area. With this the Municipality will have five branch centres, the other four being Umm Suqeim, Hatta, Karama and Al Tawar.
The project, with an excellent architectural style, is located in a strategic area on Sheikh Zayed Road directly near the Metro station and Noor Islamic Bank, which adds a good feature to the project site. Up to 30% of the work of the two-floor building, which is being built at a land area of 83,097 square feet, is completed so far. The General Projects Department in the Municipality is continuing with the engineering work of the project.
"The work of the project was taken up within the framework of the Municipality’s continuous efforts to provide community services for infrastructure projects as it is currently implementing a number of service projects like this," said Mohammed Noor Mashroom, Director of General Projects Department.
He said the department is seeking to achieve the strategic directions of the Municipality by efficiently designing and implementing service projects for the Emirate of Dubai.
"Establishment of such centres achieves one of the most important strategic objectives of the Municipality - the decentralization of service delivery for customers," said Mashroom.
The project consists of a main building consisting of ground and first floors. The total area of the building is 61,294 sq ft and the height of the building is up to 12.65 metres. In addition, there is a 41,701 sq ft car parking area, which can accommodate 121 cars. The service building contains the electrical transformer room. The roof of the building will be converted into green roof by utilizing a space of 8,200 sq ft for plantation.
The government administrative service building, to be used for serving the customers and follow-up of administrative transactions of Dubai Municipality, contains administrative offices of different sizes and specifications, meeting rooms, customer waiting areas, reception counters, cafeteria and typing centre.
The external works include parking lots, landscaping work in different areas, work of external lighting, sewerage lines and their attachments and underground water tanks. Once completed the project is certain to add another milestone along the Sheikh Zayed Road.
