Abu Dhabi, March 17th 2010 – Innovative plastics solutions provider Borouge has come on-board for the InnovHealth 2010 summit, which is taking place on April 25th – 26th 2010 at the Yas Island Rotana in Abu Dhabi. This strategic platform for Middle Eastern healthcare leaders is endorsed by the Ministry of Health, United Arab Emirates.

Borouge will be highlighting Bormed™ LE6609-PH, which is marketed globally by Borouge and Borealis, at InnovHealth 2010. This latest addition to its Bormed range of dedicated polyolefins (polyethylene and polypropylene) for healthcare applications is used for pharmaceutical packaging for intravenous solutions and medicines. Bormed LE6609-PH was introduced to the market in mid-2009 to meet demands for greater security in sterilised products as well as reductions in material use and more efficient manufacturing.

Borouge, Borealis' joint venture with Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), will triple its polyolefins manufacturing capacity to 2 million tonnes of polyolefins per year (t/y) by mid-2010 with an additional 2.5 million t/y scheduled for 2013. Borealis and Borouge currently manufactures 4 million t/y polyolefins.
