Dubai, UAE, 8th February 2010: The organisers of the Barclays Dubai Tennis Championships, taking place from the 14th – 27th February are once again providing a Park and Ride service for tennis fans heading to the Dubai Tennis Stadium this year.
Spectators are being encouraged to make use of this free Park and Ride service, which will offer regular shuttle buses between the Public Parking Site in Garhoud, next to NI Model School, and the stadium itself.
The Park N' Ride service will commence two hours before the start of play each day. For the first four days of the women's week (14th to 17th February) play starts at 12 noon, with the shuttle service starting at 10am. From quarterfinals in the women's week, the shuttle will state at the later time of 12 noon (with play starting at 2pm) and from 3pm (5pm start) on women's finals day – Saturday 20th February.
For the first five days of the men's week, play will commence at 2pm, so the shuttle service will run from 12 noon. For men's finals day, on the 27th February, the shuttle will run from 3pm, with play commencing at 5pm.
“We are continuing our Park N' Ride shuttle service after its success last year,” said Colm McLoughlin, Managing Director of tournament owners and organisers, Dubai Duty Free.
“The service offers tennis fans an easy and efficient way of getting to and from the stadium without having to worry about where to park their cars,” he explained.
Tickets for the early rounds of both the men's and women's tournaments are still available at the Dubai Tennis Stadium box office and through TimeOut tickets.
“Tickets are still very reasonably priced, which we believe gives tennis fans an affordable option for seeing the world's best tennis players in Dubai in the coming two weeks. In addition, for those who don't have tickets for Centre Court matches, there is the option of watching the many matches taking place on the side courts and to generally soak up the atmosphere at the tournament,” explained McLoughlin.
Play at the Barclays Dubai Tennis Championships, which is held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, begins on Sunday, February 14th, 2010 with the WTA Tour event and continues with the ATP tournament from Monday, February 22nd – 27th.
