Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE) has announced the details of the 25th edition of the Dubai Shopping Festival’s (DSF) Grand Opening weekend, with celebrations starting at 3pm on Thursday 26 December and Friday 27 December at Burj Park, Downtown Dubai.
Five A-list international stars have been announced as the headline acts for the spectacular DSF Grand Opening for free. Cheb Khaled, Sherine Abdel Wahab and Hussain Al Jassmi will perform on the first day Thursday 26 December, while British pop star and former One Direction member Liam Payne, and singer songwriter Jorja Smith will wow the audience on Friday 27 December.
The city will come alive with an array of activities, entertainment acts, light shows, an outstanding Burj Khalifa projection and the launch of a new Dubai Fountain show. Families can enjoy a dedicated kids’ craft station, a kid-friendly ball pit, a DSF jigsaw game, and a ‘Golden Ticket Booth’ where participants can grab 25 golden tickets and enjoy a time-based challenge to be in the chance to win a grand prize.
Additionally, music fans will get the chance to compose their own tunes on a reactive table and interact with different instruments to create a unique musical and light display or sing into a tube and see their voice travel through a light tunnel. Everyone can also enjoy a light-sensitive musical instrument by moving hands over laser lights which will trigger the sensors to send commands to different electronic devices.
Sponsored by SanDisk, PepsiCo and Emaar, the DSF Grand Opening at Burj Park at Downtown Dubai is free to attend. The event will also feature an Instagrammable ball pit with props for visitors to pose with - those who share their pictures on Instagram and Twitter can tag @DSFSocial and see them live on the digital social wall. In addition to the fun-packed activations, there are plenty of food trucks to enjoy delicious bites from including: Num Nom, The Maine, Kaak Al Manara, Pinza and The Roost.
